Cookie Policy

📅 Revision dated August 11, 2026 🍪 GDPR · ePrivacy

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your preferences, maintain your login session, and ensure the platform's features work correctly.

This policy describes what cookies and similar technologies are used on pylandschool.com, for what purposes, and how you can manage them.

2. Types of Cookies Used

Strictly Necessary Cookies

These cookies are necessary for the Platform to function and cannot be disabled. They do not require your consent.

  • sessionid — Django session cookie. Stores your session identifier to maintain your login. Expires when the browser is closed or after 2 weeks (when 'Remember me' is selected).
  • csrftoken — CSRF attack protection (cross-site request forgery). Required for secure form operation. Storage duration: 1 year.
  • django_language — saves your selected interface language. Storage duration: 1 year.
  • pyland_marketing_consent — stores the user's choice to allow analytics and marketing or keep only essential technologies. Storage duration: 1 year.

Functional Local Storage

They improve Platform performance and personalize your experience.

  • theme — saves your selected UI theme (light/dark). Storage duration: persistent (localStorage).

Analytics Cookies

Used to analyse traffic sources and measure marketing effectiveness.

  • pyland_visitor_id — anonymous visitor identifier for referral and conversion attribution. Created only after consent. Storage duration: 30 days.
  • pyland_attribution_id — first touch: stores the referral source (UTM parameters: utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign). Used to measure advertising campaign effectiveness. Storage duration: 30 days.
  • _ga, _ga_* — Google Analytics 4 cookies. After consent, they distinguish visitors and analyze sessions and conversions. Retention is determined by the Google Analytics settings.
  • _ym_* — Yandex Metrica cookies. After consent, they are used for visit analytics, click maps, and Session Replay. Retention is determined by the Yandex Metrica settings.
  • _fbp, _fbc — Meta (Facebook) Pixel cookies. Used to measure conversions from Facebook/Instagram ads and for ad targeting. Storage duration: 90 days. Set by Meta Platforms, Inc.

Paddle Cookies (payment)

When the Paddle payment form is opened, Paddle sets its own cookies required for payment processing and fraud prevention. Paddle is an independent data controller for this data. See Paddle's Privacy Policy: paddle.com/legal/privacy

3. Third-Party Cookies

The Platform uses Google Analytics 4 with Google Consent Mode v2. Before consent or when consent is denied, Google may receive limited signals without analytics or advertising cookies: consent state, event time, User-Agent, referrer, and technical request data. Google may use aggregate modeling to estimate traffic. Full analytics is enabled after consent. Google Privacy Policy: policies.google.com/privacy

Yandex Metrica, including Session Replay and interaction maps, loads only after analytics consent. Yandex Privacy Policy: yandex.com/legal/confidential

The Platform uses Meta Pixel (Facebook/Instagram) to measure advertising campaign effectiveness. Meta Pixel sets cookies _fbp and _fbc, which transmit page visit and conversion data to Meta Platforms, Inc. Meta Privacy Policy: facebook.com/privacy/policy

When signing in via Google OAuth or GitHub OAuth, the respective providers may set their own cookies in accordance with their privacy policies.

4. Cookie Management

You can manage cookies through your browser settings:

  • Google Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
  • Mozilla Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Microsoft Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Blocking strictly necessary cookies (sessionid, csrftoken) will prevent you from signing in to the Platform and using its features correctly.

5. Legal Basis

Strictly necessary cookies are used on the basis of the operator's legitimate interest (ensuring the security and functionality of the Platform) and do not require user consent.

Analytics and marketing cookies are used on the basis of explicit consent given through the Platform's cookie banner (GDPR Article 7 requires an active indication of consent).

The Platform uses a cookie banner that lets users allow analytics and marketing cookies or keep only essential cookies. When consent is denied, Google Consent Mode keeps analytics and advertising storage denied; Yandex Metrica and Meta Pixel are not loaded.

For users in the EEA, processing is carried out in accordance with the GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC. For users in the United Kingdom, the UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) apply.
